The
roots of my passion for trains run deep. When I was
about 5 years old, I received my first train set for
Christmas, and the rest is history. With the support
from my family, especially my mother Marie, I stayed in the
hobby. Of course during high school I drifted away from
trains for the usual distractions, girls, and playing
ice hockey.
In about 2000, I returned to the
hobby and discovered how much had changed in just a few
years time. I then started looking up old friends
and the bug bit again. This time around however, I
really wanted to do some type of prototype modeling.
After much thought, I went back to my roots, back to
Santa Fe. But there was a problem. Digital photography
wasn't as prevalent in the early to mid 1990's and to
much regret, I really didn't have a lot of Santa Fe
photographs. I, like many others, always assumed the
Santa Fe would be around and of course I was wrong.
During my teenage years, I did
spend time railfanning the Santa Fe. I grew up in
Wichita, Kansas and had become very fond of the blue and
yellow locomotives and enjoyed watching them switch the
yard at 21st and Broadway. I also was fortunate enough
to railfan the Emporia Subdivision, where I first saw
the return of the famous red and silver paint schemes on
brand new GP60M's.
Currently I am employed as the
Assistant Chief of Police in Cherryvale Kansas, after
starting my career in law enforcement with the Udall
Police Department. My great grandfather was a Sheriff's
Deputy in Chataqua County Kansas and I guess law
enforcement runs in my family. So support your local
police department!

I am married and have two sons,
Corbin and Jacy. My wife Amanda has been a very big
supporter of my hobby and regularly accompanies me.
Without her support, this website wouldn't be possible.
Fortunate for me, my wife's grandfather worked for and
retired with the Santa Fe. He worked in the maintenance
of way department in Augusta, Kansas. Thankfully he has
shared some of his experience in working for Santa Fe.
There are other people I would
like to thank as well, and without them I wouldn't be
the modeler I am today. In no particular order, Ryan
Mason, Glenn Hoover, R. Scott Thomas, Larry Winfrey,
Dusty McCoy, Paul Shattuck, Danny Farnsworth, Stephen
and Cinthia Priest, Eric Goodman, Dave Davis, Mike Budde,
and Dave Hussey. Thank you all for your friendships and
help throughout the years.
